FOSSOWAY AND DISTRICT COMMUNITY COUNCIL BY-ELECTION 2023

The Fossoway and District Community Council By-Election is now open. If you are passionate about your local area and want to help shape its future, here is your chance.

We hold a monthly meeting on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30 pm in one of our community village halls. Our agendas are driven by what matters to our community, and you can volunteer as much of your time as you want. Big current topics are road safety and wind farms.

If you are 16 years of age, reside in the community council area or sub-area, and are named on the electoral register for the community council area or sub-area in which you are standing, you can stand for election. We aim to elect 5 members. In cases where the number of valid nominations exceeds this, an election will be held to decide final members.

A candidate’s proposer and seconder must also be named on the electoral register and reside in the same community council area or sub-area.

To stand as a candidate, a completed nomination form and a supporting 50-word statement must be submitted to the Returning Officer at the address below or by email to communitycouncils@pkc.gov.uk by 4pm on Thursday 9 November 2023.
