National Community Councils Website

In collaboration with COSLA to enhance the role of Community Councils, the Improvement Service has developed a Community Council website. The purpose of the website is to:

  • Raise awareness of Community Councils amongst the general public.
  • Provide information on the role of a Community Councillor to potential candidates.
  • Support new Community Councils/Councillors to access information to help in their work.
  • Support Community Councils with good practice case studies.

Kinross Community Council

The Kinross Community Council website provides information on KCC, things to see and do in Kinross-shire, local businesses, public services, clubs and groups. There's also a well stocked photo library.

Portmoak Community Council

Portmoak Community Council's website provides details of all its meetings, local planning applications and information on local footpaths. You can even sign up to receive email updates.

Muckhart Community Council

In addition to information about Muckhart Community Council, the Muckhart Community website provides local news, details of events, bus times, a photo gallery and contact details for Local Councillors and MPs.

Glenfarg Community Council

With many articles of interest, the Glenfarg Community Council website has details of all community council meetings, including previous minutes. The site can tell you who your MP is, what they have said in Parliament, how they have voted and on various issues and many other interesting things. It is even possible to receive an email whenever an MP speaks in Parliament or when a particular topic is mentioned. Highly recommended.

Election Leaflets

electionleaflets.org is another useful site, where you can upload photos of election leaflets that come through your door and view leaflets uploaded by others. It's extremely easy to find your way around and allows you to check how the different parties vary their message across different constituencies. You can of course also find out about your local candidates if you didn't get one of their leaflets.
